Client Reviews for Chris Wilson Counselling
Write a ReviewChris supported me through a very challenging time and series of life events. Initially in processing some very difficult and traumatic experiences. Over the passage of time, I found our therapy sessions to be truly developmental; ultimately helping me to understand myself and personal needs better - and, in time, learning to sit more comfortably with some of the difficult feelings and pain I was, and continue, to process. Chris has a very down-to-earth, compassionate and calm manner, which coupled with his natural wisdom and expertise, enabled us to develop a safe and trusting relationship from the outset; allowing him to challenge me and identify and explore more tricky issues and feelings which were perhaps holding me back in life - helping me to heal and grow through a time of immense pressure and pain. I would unequivocally recommend Chris. My time with him has definitely been one of the best life investments I’ve made for myself.
I cannot recommend Chris highly enough. I worked with him during an exceptionally difficult period of my life, dealing with significant anxiety, feelings of betrayal, relationship worries and the stress of a challenging legal process. Throughout that time, he was consistently kind, supportive, insightful, and professional. He created a safe space where I felt genuinely heard and understood, while also helping me develop practical ways to navigate the challenges I was facing. His guidance, perspective, and steady support made an incredibly difficult phase of my life far more manageable than it would otherwise have been. What stood out most was his ability to balance compassion with thoughtful insight, helping me make sense of complex emotions and situations without ever feeling judged. I always felt that he genuinely cared about my wellbeing and progress. I am extremely grateful for the support he provided and would wholeheartedly recommend him to
Chris was brilliant. He took the time to listen and understand. He puts you at ease very quickly. Throughout our sessions we explored several topics and Chris was very helpful in guiding the conversation in the right direction. I'd have no hesitation to recommend.
Chris helped me navigate some difficult challenges in my life. He was able to meet me in that emotional space. I feel much better as a result. I would consider working with Chris in the future to assist in life's challenges.
Chris is a great listener. He has a calm presence and is able to attune to his clients. He has a real skill for enabling me to unearth things in my subconscious. I have really valued the work I have done with him
“Chris has been incredibly supportive, compassionate, and professional. I felt genuinely heard and understood, and his guidance has helped me make meaningful progress.”
I’m thankful for the help untangling a bunch of deeply set, unquestioned beliefs around relationships, children, mortality, life, the universe and everything!” It’s been an eye opening introduction to what therapy can uncover, and I’m very grateful for the time and gentleness of Chris’s approach.
Chris created a safe environment in which I felt free to express myself without judgement. His approach allowed me to unravel a series of independent events and circumstances, which hit me at the same time. I gained clarity and relief from an overwhelming feeling of burden. Chris has a sense of humour and treats clients with respect and dignity. I would not hesitate to ask for counselling myself or recommend him to others. Thank you Chris.
I approached Chris at the beginning of September 2023 looking for help following a series of major life changes including the break up of a long-term relationship, a move to another country, and a new job. It took a lot for me to admit that I wasn’t ok, and even more to seek help to do something about it. I was worried about judgement, and my pride made asking for help very hard. I needn’t have worried: Chris immediately put me at ease. We began by recognising that I had experienced three of the “big 5” life events all in one go: it was completely understandable and natural that I should feel the way I did. I didn’t need to feel guilty that I still missed my ex partner; it was ok to miss home; it was completely normal to feel inadequate in my new job and to question career choices nearing middle age. Over the coming months, Chris helped me realise that you can’t choose not to feel sad or lost in life; but you can choose to learn why you feel the way you do, whether your own actions are contributing, and through that understanding choose to change your behaviour for the better moving forwards. If you’re reluctant to open up to a stranger to talk about the way you feel: take the risk. Chris will provide you with a kind and empathetic environment to do so, and you won’t regret it.
I’m so grateful for all our sessions, they genuinely made a huge impact on me and I can see how far I have come.
