Caring and genuine!. I have had Reiki and Access Bar therapy from Maria and high recommend her. She has a wonderful calming way about her and makes you feel really at ease. Head, neck and jaw. I have been suffering with neck, jaw and head pain for the last few months. Maria has been amazing in recognising my weaknesses and has worked on them to make the muscles stronger. My pain is gone. With increasing pain and discomfort from my neck and arm I was recommended to see Maria. I have had five treatments and gradually the pain has reduced to a point where I no longer think about it. I will continue with less frequent sessions to check my posture and alignment - and I will take more care of the way I sit and reduce risk at work. So no more pain killers and back in the gym for some gentle work outs.

Great advice and fantastic treatment. I had a course of treatment from Maria last year on my knee (Bowen). I have begun powerlifting this year and was advised to have a sports massage to aid recovery. I contacted Maria and asked her advice as to which therapy would assist my recovery and she said a deep tissue massage would be better for my recovery from my workouts. I had my first treatment last week I have had sports massage before and whilst it was a firm pressure, deep tissue has the pressure hitting specific muscles then backing off. I was sore the day after the treatment but once that wore off my muscles were more loose and I had no aches or pains. I will be returning to Maria as her advice and treatments are second to none.

Great practitioner. Before I went to Maria, I was struggling to complete my work due to the pain in my back from an accident years ago. After my first consultation the pain within my back was eased. Now after three visits I feel that my back is getting back to some normalcy, and I hope with future visits the pain will eradicate.

Excellent Therapist. I am a very active person, I run and work out at the gym daily. I managed to pull my shoulder/back at a session at the gym and the pain was unbearable, a constant discomfort that prevented me from moving my arm. I found Maria at Touch Physique Therapies and she started to work on my shoulder/back, by the second appointment the pain had gone completely - I was able to work out again :) As I am so active, I decided to keep my appointments with Maria whereby I have a complete sports massage on a monthly basis. Thank you, I have my life back!. I suffered with pain 24 hours a day 7 days a week and I had learnt to live with it except for the days when I would have what we would call a 'flare up', those days I had no get up and go and would not do anything well that was until I read about Touch Therapy. I telephoned Maria and she explained what she could offer, I have tried everything else including CBT oil and nothing worked so off I went. Maria put me at ease, did not give me any sales pitch but what she did do was give me back my life, in fact after the first Pain to Go therapy the next day I went shopping for six hours, I was so happy, hubby wasn't but never mind. I had a further session and again felt fabulous. I have not planned any further sessions as I don't need any albeit I will have more if and when needed. I can highly recommend this wonderful therapist so if you were like me in constant pain and your quality of life is suffering, do yourself a favour, pick up the phone and have a chat, you have nothing to lose and maybe you can be rid of your pain. I had two sessions of Pain to Go therapy and these were combined with Bowen Therapy but only paid one overall price.

Relief at last!. Having had an injury to both shoulders I came to Maria for cupping sessions to help with the pain and to increase mobility. Cupping has been a great way to achieve this and along the journey have had my neck and head sorted out (physically not mentally!). This treatment definitely works well for me and I would have no hesitation in having cupping in the future whether or not I have an injury - there are so many benefits with this treatment.

Excellent Treatment - Thank you. I went to see Maria afer being in constant pain in my foot due to a fracture when I fell over. The pain was so bad that I had been limping for over three months and in pain all the time. Maria was very kind and undertanding and after receiving treatment on my foot I left having no pain and not even limping. It was amazing and I feel so much better being pain free, I wish I had found out about her sooner. Also even though she was very busy she saw me very quickly knowing I was in contant pain. Neck Pain. Before I went to see Maria I had a pain in my neck which I assumed was a trapped nerve because of where pain was travelling to as it radiated out. I am very pleased that I went to see her, she made me realise that my problem was linked to my posture and therefore almost every pain I had ever had was down my right side. Genius. Maria was very gentle and very effective at quickly dealing with my pain, posture and range of movement. The work she did was not only of benefit to my neck but other parts of my body like my shoulder and hips. She is amazing and I will be going back.

Just what I needed!!. I'd had a hip replacement in October 2018 and was just struggling with joint pain in the knees and lower back ache and generally just felt a bit rubbish. My first few sessions with Maria have really helped and have identified that there are other things going on as well - mainly due to how I sit when I work. This has now been rectified and from the treatment that Maria has given, the pain in my shoulders and neck have improved. Maria is warm, welcoming and explains what she is doing. It is a very soothing, relaxing and calm environment.

Bowen Treatment. I booked an appointment with Maria not sure which treatment to have has I was suffering with back pain and sciatica. Maria has treated me with 2 sessions of Bowen therapy which I had never heard of having been to a chiropractor before I wanted to try something different and the treatment gave me instant results Maria spent the necessary time with me to provide me with the results she wanted for me I felt relaxed and listen to and would defiantly recommend Maria

It is time l tried to improve my wonky, painful body. And so far....this therapy is helping me.. I have ‘lived’ with multiple sclerosis for 36 yrs. Struggling to keep mobile. Have useless legs and wonky pelvis.Have tried different therapies, plus Pilates and Yoga. So l was keen to try Bowen therapy etc., with Maria. I have noticed changes.....so l am keen to keep going, for weekly treatments, for awhile. The sessions are very relaxing and enjoyable. I do feel very tired afterwards....and have been sleeping better. Be interesting to see how l improve.....which l feel l am. The first time I have visited Maria Christoforou I had back pain and a massive problem with my shoulder. Now i am feeling great again and I can work again in my garden and also I can go back to the Gym for my diabetes control . Sleeping it was difficult thing with a pain in my shoulder, now I sleep like a baby without any crying.

Wonderful. After suffering with pain in my shoulders and neck i came to Maria to try Bowen therapy. I found it very beneficial and the cranial part incredible. I felt so much tension release and though the day after I was sore my pains are a lot less now.

Holistic and highly effective approach to years of back pain and pelvic misalignment.. I approached Maria after years of different treatments with osteopaths, chiropractors, gait specialists, physiotherapists, Alexander technique, neurosurgeons etc, etc.... I've improved greatly in recent years (thanks to the help and advice from all these specialists) but I still felt my pelvis wasn't sitting correctly, I had an long term SI joint pain issue, together with painful stiffness in my upper back and I couldn't get my core or one psoas muscle to work properly, despite taking up aqua fit and Pilates. Recently I had also been told that some myofascial release treatment might be good for me as I am so inflexible and stiff. I approached Maria and was delighted to find she offers an holistic approach which includes Bowen (for myofascial release and gentle realignment), various types of massage, cranial treatments (also excellent for realignment), use of acupressure points and Kore muscle testing (great for identifying and reactivating weak muscles). I've had all these treatments in the past in slightly different forms, so being able to go to a 'one stop shop' is amazing (and very cost effective). Maria is intuitive, gentle and she instils total confidence as she calmly sets about her work. You don't need to remove any clothing (just ensure you wear something loose) and you only need to be able to get onto and off a treatment couch. After taking a thorough medical history, and really listening, her questioning and physical examination quickly assessed all my issues (and found a few I wasn't aware of). She then spent the next hour treating the most urgent issues and getting to know how my body was functioning. Although the treatment is incredibly gentle, Maria warned me that I might not feel so well after the first treatment and would need to take things easy and she was right. However, two days later and I started to feel a big improvement. The second treatment, a week later, saw massive gains and I could feel that my pelvis was sitting more comfortably, and my other aches and pains had also improved. I've had four treatments so far (I now see Maria fortnightly) and I can report that my sleeping has improved, my muscles aren't aching at all across my lower back (and far less across my upper back), the strain on my SI joint has eased and I'm starting to be able to feel my abdominal muscles firing up. There is still work to do on the misfiring psoas muscle, but we are definitely on the right track. Maria's treatments take as long as they need too, and there is never a rush so I'm often with her for over an hour. She is very reasonably priced and genuinely cares and is happy to share her knowledge. You don't have to climb up lots of steps to her practice (just one!), parking is easy, and I really am very happy to recommend her. She has suggested a number of self-help options for me to pursue, and these are working well, and I will continue to see Maria on a maintenance basis in the future.

Keeping me active. My wife has seen Maria for several months and she recommended that I had treatment from her to target my lower back and shoulder pain. Being in my late 50s I enjoy competing in triathlons, duathlons and obstacle course races. I have completed several full ironman events, represented GB at age group duathlon and taken part in the Obstacle Course racing world championships. All this has led to regular and persistent muscular pain. Maria is very professional and knowledgeable and I have really benefited from both her conventional massage and Bowen therapies. Maria has significantly improved my posture over several treatments and this in turn has really helped my running and cycling. I am also more aware of my shoulder imbalance and with Maria's help am starting to see positive gains.

Thank you for helping me.. I went to Maria almost several weeks ago regarding constant migraine headaches, Shoulder and Elbow Pain. After maria had used the Bowen Technique to balance the body, along with muscle testing I have found that I have had no more Headaches,elbow and Shoulder Pain has minimised. Maria's Bowen treatments really have worked for me.. I initially visited Maria for Bowen Therapy on the recommendation of my wife. I had various aches and pains, which Maria diagnosed as mainly being due to a slight curvature of the spine and serious misalignment of my jaw. She has corrected both of these through her expert, gentle , non invasive treatment and I greatly feel the benefit. Maria recommends regular maintenance sessions which I attend, where any other aches and pains that develop are also treated. I had never realised before that pain can be due to the body being out of alignment in a completely different area of the body! I heartily recommend Maria's Bowen treatment service.

Wish I’d been earlier !. I decided to try Bowen Therapy to help with my migraines which were becoming more regular and although I have been prescribed drugs to help prevent them, felt I didn’t want to be on them forever, that’s when I decided to see Maria. Maria was lovely, very welcoming and explained everything in a way that was easily understood, not only did she manage to find possible causes for my migraines but she has helped to reduce them and improve my posture and tension in my shoulders and neck.
