This Cookies Policy explains what cookies are, how VerifiedPractitioner (operated by Truly Empowered Ltd) uses them, and your choices regarding cookies. This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, improve performance, and provide information to website operators.
3. How We Use Cookies
Some cookies are strictly necessary for the website and your account to work. These are always set, and they are exempt from consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
Everything else is optional and is only ever set if you choose Accept all on our cookie banner. If you choose Essential only, no analytics, advertising or marketing-measurement cookies are set, and any we had previously set are removed.
Optional cookies are used only on our own marketing pages, which are our homepage and the page shown after you sign up. They are not used on review forms, on practitioners’ public profile pages, or inside the practitioner dashboard.

Cookies Set by Stripe (Payment Processing)
When you click through to complete a payment, you are redirected to Stripe’s hosted checkout page (checkout.stripe.com). Stripe may set its own cookies on its domain to process your payment securely and prevent fraud. These cookies are not set on verifiedpractitioner.com, because they are set on Stripe’s domain and governed by Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
5. What We Do Not Do
For clarity, VerifiedPractitioner does not:
- Set any optional cookie before you choose “Accept all”
- Use analytics or advertising cookies on review forms, on practitioners’ public profile pages, or in the practitioner dashboard
- Sell your personal information, or share your review content with advertising companies
- Use cookies to collect health information or anything a reviewer has written
6. The Review Widget
The VerifiedPractitioner review widget that practitioners embed on their own websites runs inside a Shadow DOM (an isolated container). The widget does not set any cookies on the host website. It fetches review data via an API call and does not track visitors.
7. Managing Cookies
When you first visit our website you are asked to choose Accept all or Essential only. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link at the foot of our homepage, which is shown whenever optional cookies are in use, or by clearing this website’s data in your browser, which makes the banner ask you again.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are set
- Delete individual or all cookies
- Block cookies from specific or all websites
- Set your browser to notify you when a cookie is set
Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging into your practitioner dashboard.
