Cookies Policy
1. About This Policy
This Cookies Policy explains what cookies are, how VerifiedPractitioner (operated by Truly Empowered Ltd) uses them, and your choices regarding cookies. This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
2. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, improve performance, and provide information to website operators.
3. How We Use Cookies
We use a minimal number of cookies, limited to those that are strictly necessary for the website and service to function. We do not use any advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.
4. Cookies We Use
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the website to function. They cannot be switched off. They are set in response to actions you take, such as logging in or filling in forms.

Cookies Set by Stripe (Payment Processing)
When you click through to complete a payment, you are redirected to Stripe’s hosted checkout page (checkout.stripe.com). Stripe may set its own cookies on its domain to process your payment securely and prevent fraud. These cookies are not set on verifiedpractitioner.com — they are set on Stripe’s domain and governed by Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
5. Cookies We Do NOT Use
For clarity, VerifiedPractitioner does not use:
- Google Analytics or any other analytics platform
- Advertising or remarketing cookies
- Social media tracking pixels (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Third-party tracking scripts of any kind
- Cookies that track you across other websites
6. The Review Widget
The VerifiedPractitioner review widget that practitioners embed on their own websites runs inside a Shadow DOM (an isolated container). The widget does not set any cookies on the host website. It fetches review data via an API call and does not track visitors.
7. Managing Cookies
Since we only use strictly necessary cookies, there is no cookie consent banner on our website — these cookies are exempt from consent requirements under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) because the website cannot function without them.
You can still control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are set
- Delete individual or all cookies
- Block cookies from specific or all websites
- Set your browser to notify you when a cookie is set
Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging into your practitioner dashboard.

8. Changes to This Policy
If we ever introduce new types of cookies (for example, analytics), we will update this policy and implement an appropriate consent mechanism before any non-essential cookies are set.
